It seems increasingly unlikely that we would be allowed to go ahead with our exhibition at the end of May owing to the measures taken to combat the spread of Covid 19 throughout the UK. Therefore, with regret, we have postponed the exhibition and are seeking alternative dates for an Autumn exhibition which we will communicate to members as soon as they are definite, dependent of course on the epidemic being over by then. In the meantime members may wish to share their creativity via our blog on the website or offer some paintings for sale through our on line shop.
Sky arts are loooking for artists to enter their ‘Landscape Artist of the Year’ to take part in their their next series, I am sure that we have the talent, the skills and the artists who would be interested in taking part in this excellent televised competition. Get in touch with me if you are interested.
Hello All. I copy our Chairman’s note relating to the cancellation of future events and would welcome as many views as possible in order that we can establish a genuine consensus among members especially relating to the Annual Exhibition. Here is Peter’s note: “Following the announcement late this afternoon I think it unlikely that the exhibition will take place. It’s around 10 weeks to the exhibition & with a 12 wk embargo I can’t see it happening. We don’t need to decide right now as I think the picture will be clear to everyone in a few weeks time. It may be possible to have the exhibition in the Autumn? Also we have cancelled this Sat 21st March self help but again I think most members will have worked that out for themselves.
Comments are appreciated.
